Our mission is to educate people about the importance of becoming a registered organ, eye and tissue donor. We are extremely proud to collaborate with Donate Life America, and are pleased to donate a portion of book sales to aid in their efforts in sharing vital information through their organization.
Donate Life America is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization leading its national partners and Donate Life State Teams to increase the number of donated organs, eyes and tissues available to save and heal lives through transplantation while developing a culture where donation is embraced as a fundamental human responsibility.
DLA manages and promotes Donate Life℠, the national brand for the cause of donation; motivates the public to register as organ, eye and tissue donors; provides education about living donation; manages the National Donate Life Registry at RegisterMe.org; and develops and executes effective multi-media campaigns to promote donation. Over the past 28 years, Donate Life America and the Donate Life Community have registered 165 Million organ, eye and tissue donors in the United States.
By registering your decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor in the National Donate Life Registry, you are helping to save lives and give hope to the more than 100,000 people in the United States currently waiting for lifesaving organ transplants. Thousands more people are in need of tissue or corneal transplants to restore health. One donor can save and heal more than 75 lives.
Donate Life America manages the National Donate Life Registry. Registering your decision to be an organ donor in the National Donate Life Registry ensures your donor registration travels with you, no matter where you live or move across the country. When you register in the National Donate Life Registry, you are registering to be an organ, eye and tissue donor for the purpose of saving and healing lives through transplantation.
Any adult age 18 or older can register to be an organ, eye and tissue donor – regardless of age or medical history. 15-17 year olds can register their intent to be organ, eye and tissue donors in the National Donate Life Registry. However, until they are 18 years old, a parent or legal guardian makes the final donation decision. If registering in the National Donate Life Registry through iPhone, you must be 18 years or older.
It remains that one of our highest goals that "Avery's Gift" will be used as a communication vehicle with hospitals, individuals and schools to address the importance of registering as an organ donor. We have created a campaign through Donate Life America’s National Donate Life Registry, and our hope is to inspire 1,000 people to register through our "Avery's Gift" program.
